Since I was sick we did a quick overview of letter Q. We learned that Q is shy and quiet and so he always takes along his friend, U. We read several Q words and noticed brave U came right after the Q. We practiced writing Q. We noticed that lowercase p & q are similar. We made Q with our bodies. We also practiced making the Q sound. We had fun asking Questions in class.

Question of the Week:
- Do you like to be Quiet? I love that ALL the kids had a hard time with this one...they all ended up putting their magnets on the line that divides Yes and No to show that they Sometimes like to be quiet. This lead to a great discussion about when it is a good time to be quiet and when it is a good time to be loud.

- Q Quilts--This was great for scissor practice. First the kiddos had to identify which pictures make the Q sound and then they had to cut only those out. Gluing is always fun and then coloring the quilt squares was the perfect way to demonstrate individual tastes.
